Group 15's Collaborative Poetry

What has our town come to ?!

People passing by.. oh somebody, somebody
help me from this misery... oh somebody please!
and bless thy love and hope and kiss the world for all its done
from these great days of misery to a new life, a new love, and new beginning
From this old town and misery to construction sights and tall buildings to
a couple of two households to condeminum. What has our town come to?
has it come to its old end? Or has it started over from these trouble days we've been in
From men and women working here and there to children losing fear. What has our town come to?
has it come to its old end? Or has it started over from these trouble days we've been in.
From grounds being dirt to girls learning how to flirt. From grasses turning green to less and less
people being mean. To roads learning how to be paved to a new ethnic wave. From old ways returning new.
What has our town come too? Has it come to its old end? Or has it started over from these trouble days we've been in
Remember the times when you use to beg for food? Remember the times when you walked without shoes.
Oh I would never miss those days with having baths everyday. With having my own ways, not listening to any
one. Saying and telling everyone one i am finally done with these days!

Working Class;

In this town, very few live here
We have some old wise men and women
there’s Mrs. Haggerty the town maid,
She’s tough as nails like Clyde Kingfish.
He’s the soul of the town.
Always working, being tough.
But nobody beats the ol’ iron worker.
Chris Thorsten, the hardest worker.
For a man with no education he is smart.
There are stonecutters and house workers and a whole
bunch of others. But in this small town,
We got a saying, “What goes around comes around.”
Meaning, everyone goes around, and most people
come around.
